CRITICA METALS

Tantulum –  Niobium and Tin producer

About Critica

Critica Metals Tanzania Limited is a privately held, 100% Tanzanian-owned company developing the Muhukuru Tantalum–Niobium–Tin (Ta–Nb–Sn) Project in southern Tanzania.

The Company is advancing the project toward near-term commercial production of tantalum–niobium concentrates, with tin recovered as a by-product. Products are intended for supply to international smelters, refiners, and trading groups.

Project development is based on a gravity-first, modular processing approach, selected to support low operating costs, scalability, and consistent concentrate quality. Operations are designed to maintain clear chain-of-custody documentation and meet downstream customer onboarding requirements.

Critica Metals holds Primary Mining Licences (PMLs) in good standing and operates in compliance with Tanzanian mining, environmental, and export regulations. Development follows a phased execution strategy, with Phase 1 currently in construction and pre-commissioning, and trial shipments planned ahead of full plant commissioning.

The Company operates in a conflict-free jurisdiction and is aligned with OECD-based responsible sourcing standards, with a focus on traceability and practical ESG performance from the outset of operations.

Our Team

Products

Mixed Ta–Nb Concentrate

Ta₂O₅: ~20–30% Nb₂O₅: ~45–65% Moisture: ≤2% Packaging: Jumbo bags or sealed drums Quality assurance includes controlled sampling, independent assays, and buyer-aligned settlement procedures.

Tin Concentrate

Tin is recovered from the same gravity processing circuit and represents a meaningful by-product opportunity. Final specifications will be confirmed during commissioning and trial shipments.

Exploration & Development

Muhukuru Ta -Nb -Sn Project

The Muhukuru Tantalum–Niobium–Tin (Ta–Nb–Sn) Project is located in the Ruvuma Region of southern Tanzania and represents the flagship asset of Critica Metals Tanzania Limited.

The project hosts near-surface tantalum–niobium–tin mineralisation within weathered geological units that are well suited to gravity-based recovery. Mineralisation occurs predominantly within coarse columbite–tantalite group minerals, supporting shallow open-pit mining and physical concentration without the need for chemical processing in early phases.

Muhukuru is being developed as a low-cost, scalable operation, with Phase 1 centred on a modular gravity processing plant currently under construction and pre-commissioning. The initial phase is designed to establish consistent concentrate quality, disciplined operating controls, and a reliable early shipment track record, with trial shipments planned ahead of full commissioning.

The project area has a history of artisanal and small-scale mining, which recovered measurable quantities of tantalum–niobium concentrate and beryl from shallow workings. While informal and non-systematic, this activity provides confirmation of mineral presence and recoverability and supports the current development approach.

Development of the Muhukuru Project follows a phased execution strategy, allowing for progressive scale-up, operational optimisation, and expanded value capture over time, while maintaining regulatory compliance, traceability, and responsible sourcing standards.

Community

Critica Metals recognises that long-term project success is closely linked to the wellbeing of the communities in which it operates. Community engagement at the Muhukuru Project is therefore practical, targeted, and focused on measurable outcomes.

The Company has implemented a health insurance support programme providing free health insurance coverage to 300 elderly residents of Muhukuru Village, improving access to essential medical services for some of the most vulnerable members of the local community.

In support of healthcare access, Critica Metals has also contributed to the rehabilitation of the access road leading to the local health facility, improving year-round connectivity for patients, healthcare workers, and emergency services.

Critica Metals’ community initiatives are guided by three priority areas:

  • Health, through access to medical services and preventive care

  • Education, by supporting community development and long-term capacity building

  • Clean water, recognising its importance to public health and livelihoods

Community programmes are designed to be locally relevant, sustainable, and aligned with regional development priorities, and form part of the Company’s broader commitment to responsible mining and positive social impact.
