Anael leads Critica's strategy, investor relations and project delivery, bringing cross-sector commercial and operational experience to building Tanzania's first mechanised tantalite operation at Muhukuru.
Critica Metals is a Tanzanian mining company. We hold our own mining licences at Muhukuru in Ruvuma Region, mine our own ore and process it on site into tantalum, niobium and tin concentrates.
Set to become Tanzania's first mechanised tantalite producer.
Commissioning our plant is a milestone not just for Critica, but a proof point for Tanzanian rare-metals capability and local value addition.

Our mission is to build a Tanzanian rare-metals company that creates local value from critical minerals through responsible exploration, processing and commercial discipline.
Critica Metals (T) Limited is a privately held, 100% Tanzanian-owned mining company. We hold three Primary Mining Licences and a district-scale prospecting licence in Ruvuma Region, and are developing the Muhukuru Rare-Metals Project from exploration through to the production of processed concentrate.
We are miners first: we hold the licences, mine the ore and run the plant ourselves. We also process before we export. Our model is built on processed concentrate, never raw ore, in line with Tanzania's beneficiation law, so that value, jobs and capability stay in Tanzania. Every tonne will be traceable from our licences to Dar es Salaam port.

Nathaniel leads commercial strategy, offtake and investor engagement, and oversees the mineral licence portfolio, regulatory relationships and responsible-sourcing positioning. He also serves as Company Secretary.

Shedrack leads operations at Muhukuru, overseeing site contracts and field activities. His firsthand knowledge of the ground and strong community relationships are central to moving Muhukuru into mechanised production.

Deborah serves on the Critica board, contributing to governance and strategic oversight as the company builds a well-governed, professionally structured Tanzanian mining company.
A rare-metals system with real scale, in Ruvuma: a jurisdiction with well-established mining law and conflict-free status.
A rare-metal (LCT) pegmatite system along a north–south structural corridor in Muhukuru Ward, Songea Vijijini. Mineralisation is near-surface and weathered, suited to shallow open-pit mining. The wider Ruvuma corridor has seen little modern systematic exploration, which gives us an early-mover position.

Our flowsheet is entirely gravity and magnetic: crushing, washing, screening, spiral chutes, shaking tables and magnetic separation. No cyanide, no mercury, no chemical leaching. Process water is recirculated.
Tap a stage to see what happens to the ore.
Run-of-mine ore from our open pit is reduced in size so the heavy mineral grains can be freed from the host rock.
Water scrubs clay and fines away from the weathered pegmatite, exposing the mineral grains.
Material is sorted by size so every downstream unit receives a consistent feed.
Slurry flows down spiral channels. Heavy tantalite, columbite and cassiterite move to the inside and are drawn off; light waste carries on.
Vibrating, riffled decks separate the heavy minerals more finely, upgrading them into a high-grade concentrate.
Weakly magnetic tantalite–columbite is pulled away from non-magnetic cassiterite, giving separate Ta–Nb and tin concentrates.
Mined at Muhukuru. Processed at Muhukuru.
Every tonne comes from our own licences and runs through our own plant before it leaves Ruvuma.
Tantalum and niobium are our co-primary products, with tin recovered through the same circuit and beryllium as a later-phase opportunity. Bulk testing has also identified heavy rare earth elements as an additional product stream.
Critical minerals supply chains: electronics, high-performance alloys, aerospace, defence and energy technology.
Capacitors for electronics, aerospace superalloys, medical implants.
High-strength low-alloy steels, superconductors, aerospace alloys.
Solder for electronics, tinplate and packaging.
Aerospace, defence and semiconductor supply chains seeking diversified sources.
Grades shown are target product specifications for processed concentrate, not in-situ grades. Final specifications are confirmed through commissioning, third-party assay and buyer qualification.
Each phase is earned by the one before it: proven operations first, then scale, then value addition in Tanzania.
Commission the gravity plant and establish regular concentrate exports.
Modular expansion to at least double throughput, enhanced tin recovery and systematic beryllium concentration.
Convert concentrates into Ta₂O₅ and Nb₂O₅, with near-zero liquid discharge water management.
Metal and alloy production such as ferro-niobium and tantalum metal, subject to power, policy and partners.
Sequencing and timing are indicative and subject to study, permitting and financing.
Downstream buyers in electronics, aerospace, defence and energy need proof of origin. Traceability is not a compliance exercise for us; it is the foundation the business is built on.
Chemical-free processing is both an environmental commitment and a buyer-qualification advantage. Raw ore export is not part of our operating model: local employment, local infrastructure, local capability. Value stays in Tanzania before export.
We welcome offtakers, investors and partners who share our commitment to responsible, long-term rare-metals development in Tanzania. Our investor teaser is available without an NDA; an NDA is required before data-room access.
Smelters, traders and downstream processors seeking conflict-free, traceable tantalum–niobium and tin concentrate. Pricing is market-linked, with settlement on an independent, jointly appointed assay.
Equity and structured investment at company or project level, in a platform with processing capability, district-scale exploration upside and responsible-sourcing credentials.
Development finance institutions, technical service providers and responsible-sourcing bodies supporting Tanzanian critical-minerals development.
Whether you are an offtake buyer, strategic investor, development finance institution or industry partner, we would like to hear from you.
